Austin PTG Chapter Meeting & News

Tuesday, November 4, 7:00 PM

UT Butler School Of Music Room 5.246 (fifth floor)

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce we our next meeting, Tuesday 11/4 at UT Butler school of Music at 7:00pm (room 5.246 on the fifth floor)

We will be holding a tuning symposium for all to attend and participate. My hope is that all attendees, from beginner to expert, will spend a few minutes tuning in front of the group. The viewing participants can then ask questions or give feedback. This is of course a deep subject and there is so much that time won’t allow us to cover but observing snippets of our colleagues at the piano may aid other modes of study and practice.

There is an endless variety of subtlety by which we all strive for the same result; I have often wondered how others get there. I wonder most of all when I feel like the piano is really putting up a fight or my work seems to crumble every time I turn around. Perhaps we can all gain something from sharing our approach or confusion about this task we have in common.

Bring your tuning lever and accessories!

Free parking is available on Dean Keaton after 6:00pm (check signs)

I hope you can join us!

Nathan Cook
Austin Chapter President
