I hope the start of this years’ Spring finds each of you well and in good spirits.
I am pleased to invite you to our next Chapter meeting Monday April 7th at 7:00pm at Steinway Piano Gallery.
Austin PTG’s Jeff Farris will be presenting and has shared some information about his background and the focus of this meeting:
Hello, local PTG folks,
My name is Jeff Farris. I started working on pianos at Mollberg & Associates in a warehouse on St. Elmo Drive in South Austin in the summer of 1989. It was an eye-opening experience to say the least. After being there for several years, I worked at Strait Music where I focused more on tuning. Then in 2006, I was hired for a half-time position at UT, the one that David Brown had just vacated. For over 11 years (and probably 30 some odd restringing jobs) I left to be self-employed full time. I feel so blessed to be doing work that I love. Our meeting will cover lots of small tips that I have learned over the years. I’ll share some practical steps for the everyday technician, including certain techniques and tools. I’d also like to have some audience participation to share ideas from other techs. So come prepared to discuss the little things that help our work to be better, quicker, and less stressful.
See you there!
All are welcome, hope you can join us!
