Dear Colleagues,

Let's please thank Chris Prewett for representing Chapter 787, Austin, TX as our Delegate at this year's convention in Chicago earlier this month. Chris told me he saw a lot of cool stuff, and has a great idea for our chapter meetings. I can't wait to hear what he has to say. Next year the National Convention will be in Atlanta. I'm saving my pennies now so I can make that convention.

BIG NEWS:

We have a new RPT among us. Our very own Nick Litterski completed his tuning test while attending the convention in Chicago. Nick is our newest Registered Piano Technician!!!!! Thank you for your hard work Nick, and congratulations!

Congratulations also to our SCRC President, Norm Cantrell. Norm is now PTG President. Thank you for all your hard work Norm!!!!

I'm still working on August and September meetings.

Asian, especially Chinese pianos, are with us now and forever more. The more we know about them and their manufacturers the better prepared we'll all be as technicians. I'm hoping for us to visit Brian Henselman's new retail space in September, where Brian and a factory Rep will show us all the features of the Hailun grand and vertical pianos.

Mark this on yourcalander y'all!!! Saturday, October 12, 2013, our Chapter is hosting Nick Gravangne, RPT, at UT's Butler School of Music. This is going to be an all day presentation. Nick utilizes a great power point presentation, along with  plenty of "HANDS ON" opportunities. This topicwill be "Action Geometry - Yet Another Look". Nick quotes, "This is not simply about theory, but what you learn here, you can put to use in your very next action job!" Lunch will be provided. Parking will be back to normal. This will be a good'n y'all. Yes, there is a fee to attend. Seating is limited to 40. Be there or be square.

Stay well rested. Stay hydrated. Wear sunscreen and a hat when you're outside! I hope you're all having a great summer.

Remember, It's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice.

Respectfully,

Linn Roath
