Austin Chapter PTG
Newsletter July 2008
Happy Fourth of July! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We are very fortunate to enjoy the blessings of life, liberty,
and the pursuit of happiness as we go about our daily lives.
Next meeting - Monday, July 14th, 7:30 P.M., Butler School of Music at U.T., Room M3.112 (mezzanine level 3M)
Topic: National Convention Report
We had eight members from our chapter at the national convention. For complete information on our council meeting,
please see http://www.ptg.org/conv/2008/news/council.php . This will give you a complete list of all the proposals put forth, but for those of you working towards RPT status, the most important one is Proposal 3. It did pass, but will not take effect until January 2009. Here's the complete language of the proposal:
Proposal 3 - Exam Changes:
This is a large set of changes to the exam bylaws. Much of the language in the Regulations was moved to an Exam
Procedures Manual. This makes the changes of administrative details much easier. Important details of the exam such as the passing score remain in Bylaws and Regulations where they can only be changed by
Council. The fee for the tuning and technical exams was raised from $90 each to $180 each. Administrative details about these funds will follow.
Please feel free to visit with your delegate, Steve Walthall, if you have any questions or concerns about this year's
Council.
