It is my pleasure to invite you to our next Chapter meeting Monday 5/5 at 7:00pm at Steinway Piano Gallery.
We are honored to have Charles Ball presenting:
“My presentation will be based upon nearly 60 years of experience as a freelance technician, a dealer technician, a university technician and a concert technician. I will first talk about pitch, its history, its variants for different kinds of uses and instruments, and its justification. Then I will discuss temperament, including some of its variants, how it is set, its practical and musical uses, and how tempered instruments interface with other types of instruments and tuning styles. Finally, I will talk in general terms about tuning, the tools of the trade, techniques for attaining stability, and offer practical suggestions for speed, accuracy and stability.”

San Marcos TX. This is our annual visit to Jim Watson’s piano rebuilding shop. After this we will be on Summer recess until September.
